Message from the Captain
Well here goes!!!
I like would welcome everyone to the new 2005/2006 season here at Blackrock rugby club. Over the past two years I have
been involved at the club as a player and enjoyed it immensely. This year I see my role changing to that of player/coach
(must be getting old).
I am lucky enough to have a great management team on board with co-coaches being Emmett Farrell, Barry Gibney and Michal
Jackson, Technical Advisor, Ray Ward, Management of Lorcan Macken, Dave Boyd, Joe Fitzpatrick and Nadene Abrahams.
I would like to acknowledge Glen Remnant who has joined the club as a player and J1 head coach.
The role of player coach is always a difficult one but will be made easier with the above personnel involved. 2005/2006 like
any All Ireland League season will be tough. As everyone knows the difference between winning and losing is very marginal.
Everyone is basically striving for the same goal, success.
To work towards this we as coaching staff are trying to promote a positive/challenging environment for the players to work in.
Player development is a high priority on our list especially with the options available today in the professional rugby arena.
On and off the field we are trying to foster a team culture and have everybody pushing each other to a higher level.
I feel that with the right attitude and mind set we can achieve.
To the other teams/coaches within the club best of luck for the coming season. On a personal front I would like to wish Jim
Graham all the best in his role as president and thank him for his help to date and over the year.
To everybody else your support for the coming season will be invaluable and fingers crossed with some rekindled club spirit things
can happen.
